Louise Gough graduated in 1987 from the Anglo- European College of Chiropractic, in Bournemouth, having completed a four year course to qualify as a doctor of chiropractic. She then worked for a short time in Dorset before her move to Cornwall where she started the Penzance Chiropractic Clinic. Louise is a trainer and a regional course organiser for the Royal College of Chiropractors. She is married to a local G.P David Carruthers and they have two sons. In her spare time she sings with A Cappella and enjoys long distance walking.
Archie Scotts graduated in 2012 from the Anglo -European College of Chiropractic, Bournemouth, having completed a five year undergraduate masters degree to qualify as a doctor of chiropractic. Archie regularly visited family in Cornwall throughout his childhood and is delighted to be practising here in Penzance. He is a keen sailor, cyclist and enjoys surfing.
Fionnuala Poynter graduated in 2020 from AECC in Bournemouth having completed a 5 year undergraduate masters degree to qualify as a doctor of chiropractic. Fin has had a close affinity with Cornwall since childhood, and loves being in, on and around the sea, having adventures and exploring quiet surf spots.
All chiropractors in this practice are registered with the General Chiropractic Council and are members of the British Chiropractic Association and the Royal College of Chiropractors.
Jane Scotts started work as practice manager in 2021 when Archie Scotts took on the clinic from Louise. Born on Tresco, Iscles of Scilly, Jane spent time working in a bank in Birmingham before returning to Cornwall and working as a teaching assistant. Jane likes to paint and enjoys time on the beach and growing vegetables.
Sue Hobson started work as a receptionist in 2005 after a varied career. Penzance born and bred, Sue likes nothing more than lying on the beach with a good book, or if feeling more energetic, walking or cycling.
Sue Symons commenced working as a receptionist in 2010, having previously been a Civil Servant for more than 30 years. Coming from a farming family, Sue has always lived locally and enjoys walking, cycling and musical theatre.
Mikaela Bennett moved to Cornwall in 2016 and started as a receptionist in 2018. She loves coastal walks, sea views, and sitting on the beach when it’s warm. She also loves to read in her spare time.
Marlene Ladd has worked as a cleaner at the practice since 2011, she is also a postie delivering around Penzance. When she is not working she enjoys cycling, running and walks on the beach.
Jackie Rowlands is a homoeopath who started her association with this practice following her graduation from the British School of Homoeopathy in Bath in 2001. Jackie previously trained and worked as a state registered nurse and a registered sick children’s nurse. She is registered and insured with the society of homoeopaths. Heather Lawrenson started with the practice in 2013 and has been counselling since qualifying with Herm College Somerset in 1999 as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor. Alongside her private practice Heather has counselled in various organisations in Bristol and Cornwall. She has run therapeutic groups, worked at Truro college, Brook Cornwall and is presently still employed with Relate having obtained further qualification as a couples counsellor in 2010.
